- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, combine blackberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar.
- Add milk and melted butter to the flour mixture and stir until combined.
- Pour the blackberry mixture into a baking dish.
- Spoon the batter over the blackberries.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
- Substitute frozen blackberries if fresh are not available.
