Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
  • 6 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
  3. Add butter and blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in ice water until mixture forms a ball.
  5. Roll out half the dough and place in a pie pan.
  6. In another bowl, mix sliced apples with caramel sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and sugar.
  7. Pour apple mixture into the pie crust.
  8. Roll out the remaining dough and place over the filling.
  9. Seal and cut slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  10. Bake for 45-50 minutes until crust is golden brown.

Notes

  • Use tart apples for the best flavor.
  • Serve warm with ice cream.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
