- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for filling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 15×10-inch jelly roll pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs and vanilla until thick and lemon-colored.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the egg mixture, mixing until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once done, let it cool for a few minutes, then invert onto a clean towel.
- Roll the cake with the towel and let it cool completely.
- Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Unroll the cake, spread the cream filling, and roll it back up.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
