Ingredients

- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
- Add butter and mix until crumbly.
- Add egg yolk and mix until dough forms.
- Press dough into a tart pan and bake for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat cream in a saucepan until just boiling.
- Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Stir until smooth, then add vanilla extract.
- Pour chocolate mixture into the baked tart shell.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes

- Let the tart cool completely before cutting.
- Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
