Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
  3. Add butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Add egg yolk and mix until dough forms.
  5. Press dough into a tart pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, heat cream in a saucepan until just boiling.
  7. Pour hot cream over chopped chocolate and let sit for 5 minutes.
  8. Stir until smooth, then add vanilla extract.
  9. Pour chocolate mixture into the baked tart shell.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
