- 4 ounces dark chocolate
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water.
- In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with half the sugar until pale.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla to the egg yolks and mix.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the remaining sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture in three additions.
- Pour the batter into greased ramekins.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until risen.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
