Ingredients

Instructions
- Hull and slice the strawberries, then sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar over them and let sit for 30 minutes.
- If using store-bought biscuits, slice them in half. For homemade, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt, cut in butter, add milk, roll out, and bake.
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with the remaining sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Assemble the shortcake by placing the bottom half of a biscuit on a plate, adding strawberries and syrup, a dollop of whipped cream, and then the top half of the biscuit.
- Garnish with additional strawberries and whipped cream if desired.
