Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsulfured molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  4. Add the egg and molasses to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are firm.
  8. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
