Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugars until smooth.
  4. Add egg and molasses to the butter mixture, mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the dough and cut into shapes.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Let cool before decorating.
