Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes
  • Sesame seeds or mung beans for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Drain the rice and steam it for about 30 minutes until cooked.
  4. In a saucepan, heat coconut milk, sugar, and salt until dissolved.
  5. Reserve a small amount of the coconut mixture for serving.
  6. Mix the cooked rice with the remaining coconut mixture and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  7. Peel and slice the mangoes.
  8. Serve the sticky rice with mango slices and drizzle with reserved coconut milk.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds or mung beans.
