Description
A warm, spiced red wine beverage perfect for winter.
Ingredients

- 1 bottle red wine (750 ml)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 5 whole cloves
- 3 star anise
- 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine red wine, orange slices, and lemon slices.
- Add sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and star anise.
- Heat over medium until warm, but do not boil.
- Let simmer for 20-30 minutes to blend flavors.
- If using, stir in brandy just before serving.
- Strain and serve warm in mugs.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to taste.
- Can be made ahead and reheated.
- Garnish with additional orange slices if desired.
