Description
Tres Leches Cake is a traditional Latin American dessert soaked in three types of milk.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture.
- Pour into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- In a bowl, combine whole milk, evaporated milk, and sweetened condensed milk.
- Poke holes in the cooled cake and pour milk mixture over it.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Spread whipped cream over the cake before serving.
Notes
- Chill the cake after soaking for best flavor.
- Top with fresh fruit if desired.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
