Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 6 large eggs, separated
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add vegetable oil, water, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the batter.
- Pour the batter into an ungreased tube pan.
- Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool upside down in the pan.
- Once cooled, remove from the pan and serve.
Notes
- Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
- Do not grease the pan for the best rise.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
